TFA were appointed to assist Redrow with their promotion of land at Farm Lane which formed part of a wider emerging allocation of 1,000 homes in the Joint Core Strategy being prepared by Tewkesbury Borough Council, Cheltenham Borough Council and Gloucester City Council.
Approach
The area, whilst not Green Belt was highly controversial with a strong anti-lobby supported by a number of key local stakeholders. Following community consultation, TFA focused on continuing stakeholder engagement.
Results
The planning application was approved for a delegated decision to grant consent by members of Tewkesbury Borough Council’s planning committee. A “holding direction” followed requests for “call-in” by two local MPs and briefings were sent to key stakeholders. The Secretary of State subsequently confirmed the application would not be “called-in.”
