TFA was presented with a real challenge after promoting a controversial scheme for BT for 674 student rooms on the former Cowley Barracks' site of just 3.90 acres in Oxford.
Approach
The site was sold, subject to planning permission, to Unite Students, who decided to submit a planning application for 855 student rooms. TFA worked with local residents, addressing their concerns of overlooking and switching densities away from existing residential housing. This resulted in fewer objections and more letters of support.
Results
The area planning committee of Oxford City Council approved the scheme.
